The target is set on fire for 5 seconds, which does an additional 4 fire damage over time. The room is big enough for them to spawn inside, (8x8x8 maybe). You can reach blazes inside a 2x2 area pretty well from the outside with a bit of running around. Using nether brick as the platform can allow for the farm to have eight or more platforms. Managed to build this entirely without dying and without being harrassed too much by the blazes.
